Claudia (Christiane Filangieri), a young and famous concert performer, comes back to Lignano for her father’s funeral. Her father has always lived far away from her, in the resort of Lignano, and Claudia has never known anything about his past. But coming back to her father’s house in Lignano, after the funeral, she discovers among her father’s sheets some hints that links him to the famous writer Ernest Hemingway (Francesco Barilli), who stopped in Lignano in 1954. This event, after which Lignano’s name would have been forever bind to the name of the American writer, is at the root of a narration, composed of both fact and fiction, that goes deeper and deeper inside the past of Claudia’s father and inside the past of Lignano resort. Blinded by an insane curiosity, Claudia starts an investigation among objects and people that are both part of a mysterious past, that must be rebuilt. In her search she’s helped by an innkeeper (Sergio Rubini) that put her in touch with an old friend of her father, Samuel (Cosimo Cinieri). As far as the story becomes more complicated, getting darker and darker, the story of Lignano flows in the background, with all its metamorphosis, from the beginning of ’50 to the modernity of today.
