The FVG Audiovisual Fund will be present at the second edition of INTO THE FUTURE 2012 (28 to 30 March 2012 in Oslo, Norway) , a Think Tank about the collaboration between the Professional Training Providers and the European Funders, Policy Makers and Sponsors.

The project of this conference is a continuation of the first edition, held in Zürich in 2010, which demonstrated the importance of professional training as a lab for the future of the audiovisual industry (see ItF 2010 Report and ATC Booklet). Our intention is now to focus on the specific relationships between the funders and the professional training providers.

Among the objectives we can find:
-explore the priorities of the film funds in Europe and the role played by professional training in the quickly changing industry
-analyse the significant differences between countries’ film policies (national and regional) in relationship to training
-convince the decision makers of the public funds from countries where professional training is little supported to increase their interest in and contribution to it, and locate potential new sources of funding
-produce a Report following the event which will not only summarise the current situation regarding the funding available for professional training in the audiovisual industry but also present possible improvements, developments and new ideas in terms of co-operation and synergies between funders/partners/sponsors and training providers
In other words INTO THE FUTURE 2012 is an interdisciplinary creative and interactive think tank with the objective of contributing towards the future shape of professional training for the industry. The creative brainstorming during the event should result in concrete ideas and proposals for a more fruitful collaboration between training providers and partners.
