TFL Up & Coming Italia is a new initiative dedicated to Italian cinema, addressed to emerging producers taking their first steps into international co-production.
A group of 6 emerging producers will be the protagonist of an exclusive plan of activities that will take place during the TFL Meeting Event, from the 18th to 20th of November 2020. They will receive dedicated guidance and will enhance visibility among the Decision Makers thanks to the TFL Catalogue.
The TFL Meeting Event is the annual showcase of the projects, talents and films developed at TorinoFilmLab, featuring a global co-production forum for independent original or adapted feature films (with a focus on emerging directors through FeatureLab), and a presentation of the professionals trained within the scheme. It is also a moment to reward the best projects with the TFL Production Awards, as well as collateral prizes backing the further development, production and post-production.
The aim of TFL Up & Coming Italia is to provide a new generation of Italian producers with tools and guidance to work internationally, while experiencing first-hand the final event of presentation of the projects developed by TFL during the year.
The selected participants will be offered a special “welcome package” through dedicated sessions of meetings with experts and mentors, which aims at putting them in contact with potential partners, expanding their industry network and, at the same time, enhancing their knowledge and experience in co-productions, markets and international financing. This tailor-made plan of activities will include a series of masterclasses and case studies on the following themes: international co-production; European co-production markets and forums; European funding and tax incentives; worldwide sales. These topics will be presented and analysed by highly qualified European and international professionals who regularly collaborate in TFL training programmes.
After these first dedicated training sessions, the producers of TFL Up & Coming Italia will join the other guests in the TFL Meeting Event forum, which includes the public presentations of projects developed within TFL’s programmes, one-to-one meetings and networking moments. The participants will also be the protagonists of a presentation and networking event organized in collaboration with TFI – Torino Film Industry, which will bring together high-profile Italian and international guests.
To enhance the visibility of the TFL Up & Coming producers, their profiles will be presented in the TFL Catalogue 2020. This will guarantee a significant added value in terms of exposure, which will help them to strengthen their connections with the industry.
