A journey through the underground world of rock & roll. Following three music bands from the Italian Alps, striving for success, the director Massimo Garlatti-Costa finds a world of passions, dreams and endless hopes. We get to know Vertigine, Mercenary Gods and Vanilla Resident, three rock bands from the Friulian Alpine villages who try to make it big on the national and international stage. The leaders of the bands – Simone Piva, Louis Armato e Michele Fusetti – tell us what it means to dream to be a rockstar when you are coming from such a small place. We follow them as they work in the factory always thinking about their next music performance which could be their breakthrough. Simone almost made it, he took part in a music programme on National television, but he didn’t succeed. We move up to London, where we meet up with other up and coming bands that have made dreams come true and then visit the Italian MEI, the Meeting of Independent Labels. Following the Italian bands, that are trying to promote themselves, we get to know famous musicians like Roy Paci, Carmen Consoli, Er Piotta, Giorgio Canali, Frankie H NRG and producers like Dario Salvatori, Michel Pergolani, Renato Marengo and Enrico Capuano who tell us what you really need to make it big in the music industry. After a year the journey ends, and back in the Italian Alps the bands look back in their experiences.
