Il Paese Ritrovato (The Lost Village) is a creative documentary that aims to portray  the history of a typical Italian village from the end of WW2 to the late 70ies only using Super8 and 8mm films, the “so-called” family cinema. 8mm film (and later “Super 8” film) was how family’s recorded important moments in their life prior to the invention, and wide spread use of video tape. The documentary is part of a wider project called Cinema di Famiglia -Family Cinema-  that aims to create, safeguard and promote an archive of 8mm and Super8 films. (www.cinemadifamiglia.it)
