Tina is a story of love and expectation. It is a film about reality and expectations, about idealisation and worldliness, about care and abandonment.

Tina is a 12-year-old tomboy who would like to smash everything but at the same time observes the world with eyes full of wonder. With ardour and patience she waits for her beloved from whom she has been separated, her father, who has promised her a surprise… It is the end of summer and Tina has been in Linosa for months, with her mother and her heterozygous twin sister, Bea. The three moved to the island after her mother discovered that her husband was cheating on her with a much younger colleague. Despite this, Tina holds a grudge against her mother, believes it is her fault that her father left and cannot forgive her. The day the ferries from the mainland are interrupted due to bad weather, Tina’s heart breaks: her father will not come to rescue her from the bizarre community left on the island. Shocking betrayals and unexpected alliances will shatter the young girl’s every certainty, teaching her that abandonment hurts but also forces one to confront oneself. A coming of age in which our protagonist goes from puberty to adolescence observing adults and seeing their motivations and limits more clearly.
