On November 3, 1918 the Audace cruiser docks on the San Carlo Pier. It is the first Italian ship that arrives in Trieste. The Bersaglieri land with the command of Gen. Petitti di Roreto. The day after the official announcement: the war is over, Trieste is Italian, after five hundred years in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Molo San Carlo will become Molo Audace, the adjacent Riva becomes Riva 3 November, and when the ship will finish its maritime history, its anchor will be placed at the base of the Faro della Vittoria. Nothing will be the same. The film tells all the steps of the early “Italian” years of Trieste, from 1918 to the advent of fascism.
