Inspired by Joris Ivens’ final film, Une histoire de vent, this documentary sets out on a journey across Europe in search of the invisible image of the wind. By following the continent’s major winds—from the Bora to the Mistral, from the Föhn to the Scirocco, from the Meltemi to the Tramontana—the film creates a poetic and sensory map that transcends geographical and political borders. Through the voices of ordinary people, writers, scientists, and artists, and by weaving together ancient myths, literary texts, and meteorological observations, the wind emerges as a physical, cultural, and symbolic force that has shaped landscapes, human character, and destiny. A narrative built on long periods of waiting and sudden bursts of energy, the film invites a deep listening to nature, where the wind becomes a metaphor for breath, memory, and the fragility of human existence.
